Money
Money provides choices; choices contribute to freedom.

Freedom is not a reaction; freedom is not choice. It is man's pretense that because he has choice he is free. Freedom is pure observation without direction, without fear of punishment and reward. Freedom is without motive; freedom is not at the end of the evolution of man but lies in the first step of his existence. In observation one begins to discover the lack of freedom. Freedom is found in the choiceless awareness of our daily existence and activity.
Freedom has nothing to do with money. In many ways, freedom is easier without money. Minimalism allows you to wake up without thinking about all the material things which distract us.
My life experience is different. I can only speak, honestly, from my level of enlightenment.
When I was young my family was poor. I left home when I was sixteen and found it very difficult, at times, to support myself. I felt compelled to take jobs I didn't want and do work I disliked simply to put a roof over my head and to eat. I felt trapped and afraid.
Today, I have earned and saved enough money to support my family without working. I still choose to work, part time, I also choose to travel and I choose to do charity work. I no longer feel trapped and afraid. I feel free.
